What I Did …….

What was I doing the day my 2.5.0.th post dropped, you ask?

Life positioned me in Louisville, Kentucky, with my son and his family!

I got a few high fives, texts congratulating me and love from you, my blog family!

My son and I went to lunch to share this special occasion over a plate of goodness!!

We chose, The Table, in his neighborhood. I’ve been before, but love to return! It has a special mission and at least one notable guest.

This day, I had the smoked chicken …. YUM!!

“Shotgun” houses built around 1900 fill the Portland neighborhood. They once housed the dock workers on the Ohio River a few blocks away. Once locks were built on the River, the workers were no longer necessary and this neighborhood declined. It now houses many who struggle in life for a variety of reasons.

The Table is a bright spot, as the video said. Many days at lunch time tables are full with people waiting. Five Years ago when I first visited, I wondered if the concept would thrive. It has! It is! It’s a privilege to dine there!!

My son is a regular; friends with many of the workers and diners. We halted our conversation to chat with others during our lunch. I so admire their mission, smiling faces, great food, and excellent service! It was a great place to mark my milestone!

My company was excellent too; time with children is priceless! We rarely steal away, just the two of us! He’s a creative and I never leave him without being challenged. This day we did a little evaluation on my blog and a little dreaming for the future!

The company, the food, the atmosphere, the people … perfection!!!
