EXACTLY!

“People say they love their grandchildren more than their children. That’s not it … I love my grandchildren TWICE! I love them through my child’s eyes and my own. Watching your children love their children breeds and multiplies love AND I also love them from my heart … they are part of me and my child’s!!!”

Regrettably, I can’t credit this to anyone. I saw it last week, but no name was credited. It struck a strong cord in me!

I’ve heard for decades, “Wait till you have grandchildren. You’ll love them more than your kids. “ I was always suspicious of that mindset.

That quote … That’s it! What a perfect explanation for a grandparents’ love!!!

As hard as I tried to explain my love for my grands, I could not come up with words that captures it so well!!

I say … EXACTLY!!

Watching your children parent is a whole new level of love. How could you not love someone they would sacrifice anything for, even their own lives? Their hearts pour out into these new tiny lives. The tenderness and devoted love effects the deep deep places of their parents’ heart. Love multiplies!!

My heart makes a connection, as well. Oh, the immense love!! These little ones instantly become part of me too!!

TWICE! I LOVE THEM TWICE!

Last week was a wonderful reprieve. I spent the week with my daughter and youngest granddaughter.

Spending a week with any of my “grands” is healing and soothing to my soul. Last week, it was a blessed distraction.

Oh, the medicine of warm rosy cheeks to kiss upon waking, the silly giggles erupting, open mouth kisses with tiny hands on cheeks, and the sweetest smile every time you appear. I can’t even explain how the daily dosage ministered to my heart!

Have you found a sufficient way to describe your love for your grandchildren or children?

Did last week bring any reprieves for you? Tell us!

As a breast cancer survivor with a few more medicinal years ahead, I want to encourage any who might struggle in the fog and midst of it!! I understand!

Please let me pray for you or a friend who’s experiencing it right now!!

I understand the stress of the diagnosis, treatments and self-changes. It’s more than any of us want to face. Unfortunately, every 1 in 8 of us has to!

The great news is … we have magnificent odds of beating it by the medical world’s advances.

If you are one of the eight facing the diagnosis, you are strong enough. You may think the opposite, but you will persevere, one step/day at a time! Reach out to others who have walked the road or your support team. Let them help you and strengthen you. This is not a time to walk alone. Let others walk with you.

I’d consider it a great honor to pray for you.

Leave a note in the comments!!

Happy November,
