Today is a Monumental Blog Day!
This is my 300th post on this blog!!

This blog had its 6th birthday in June, but my book launch stole the spotlight. Today hitting 300 feels like … well …. a lot!! A hurdle crossed! A big event! A large milestone!
300 weeks I’ve sat down with my iPad and shared some thoughts or happenings, dreams and the culmination of dreams with you!!
For those mathematicians reading … the math doesn’t work! My start date was June 2018. I missed a few weeks along the years, as I did last week, and on very few occasions (maybe 3), I updated a former post which wasn’t a “new” post. So, 300 times, I have scribed a brand new post on this blog!
No hard feelings mathematicians. Growing up with a mathematician, I developed a sensitivity to explain. I want you to feel good about it with me versus question marks! I understand. 😉
It is one of the most consistent things I have done outside of being a marriage partner and a Mom. I have volunteered in quite a few positions for longer, but this one depends on no one else! A solo gig. I muster up ideas, words, and then carry them through onto the page, format it to WordPress, and send it on its way to you every week. No one makes me, stands over me, motivates me or incentivizes me. It’s an inward job!
On my way to writing the book, Bolt From The Blue, you’ve heard about and I hope all of you have read: I took a publishing course by Michael Hyatt. It was during that time that God lead me, I believe, to start a blog. It wasn’t even an emphasis of the course, but a few words, thoughts and ideas gelled and struck me.
I had written a monthly newspaper column for a parenting magazine for ten years: it ended. Taking on a once a week assignment versus a once a month assignment felt huge and way more daunting than I could imagine! I was not at all sure how it was going to work!! The biggest change was no one was expecting me to write it. No deadlines to meet, no expectations to fill, only inward ones.
We all know those can be the hardest to meet and easiest to break. It’s easier to just let life slip by and not take the time, energy, brain power, and computer savvy to do it! It has been me holding myself accountable. More than once I have argued with myself!😂
I’ve known quite a few who started a blog and didn’t stay in the game very long. It’s a lot to ask of yourself amid the rest of life knocking on the door and demanding unforeseen time. But, I also read bloggers who post 5 days a week! Bless them😉
Blogs, to me, are like reading a magazine article from someone you connect with. Their perspective or writing style speaks to you. It’s like reading a book, but shorter, so chances of finishing it are greater. It’s a place to share life. And I have looked at it like a ministry to some people I know and others I’ll never meet. My goal is to enhance, inspire and cheer on friends, family and strangers.
A saying I heard decades ago still rings true … “Strangers are just friends I’ve never met.”
I missed you here last week. I’ll share about what I’ve been up to and where I’ve been soon (all good things).
I’d just like to, on this 300th post, reiterate my aim for this blog space we share… from the “About Me” page on the website…
While days often seem to drag on, years keep flying by. Amid both, I note and collect “Forever Moments”: moments of an eternal God touching my life and the people around me.
I wish the same for you. Capture the years, embrace the days, and collect the God-moments along the way.
After-all, at the end of earthly days, “forever” is all that matters.
Short Years. Long Days. Forever Moments.
