Here we are 14 days till Christmas!
How are you doing?
Some years Thanksgiving and Christmas are a week closer together, this being one of them. It seems to hasten the pace, shorten prep time and leave some of us yearning for more time.
Maybe you still have some shopping to do or would like to figure out a gift for someone you won’t see this season. Possibly, distance deters you gathering. We have that situation in our family. We have siblings and children many states away.
I have a few suggestions for sending a little Christmas treat with very little effort or cost.
First, let Amazon ship!!!
We all know shipping prices have skyrocketed and make me pause. Lots of times, the cost of shipping is more than the cost of the contents. It’s crazy.
So, let Amazon pay for that. Yes, it limits gifts, but I’m thinking about a little something to let your friends or loved ones know you’re thinking of them despite the distance. Or, maybe grandchildren or great grands you can’t spend much money on, but would like to send something. Maybe it could be a family gift.
Order the gifts from your Amazon account, but change the shipping address to the person you want to send it to. Make a separate order for each person your sending to. There is a place under “gift options” for you to send a message so the receiver knows who sent the gift!
I do this all the time. It works. I’m sure you already know.
Here are a few ideas from Amazon around $10 that I’ve given or something similar …
Click on photos for links to Amazon.
This tin of cookies … chocolate covered Oreos. They are not homemade, but no one has denied them!
What about a family puzzle, if your family likes them?
Adult ones ….

Kid ones ….

Hint: pay attention to the recommended ages and purchase accordingly, if it’s not a family gift.
How about my favorite Devotional …
Do you have a reader?
I think everyone should read this book 😉 ….
Or my favorite Christmas author …
For children, a few under $10 suggestions …
Fun Books… they are consumable and won’t hang around forever. When they finish them, they get disposed, but they provide a lot of fun while they last! (Pay attention to age ranges)
Maze Book ….
Dot to Dot …
Magic Ink Book … they have these in many characters.
Mess Free Coloring Pages … the markers only work on this paper. It’s amazing!
Sticker by Number Book …
Hidden Picture Book …
I hope these ideas have helped stir your imagination or given you concrete gifts to send a little something across the miles or even close by.
No trips to the post office. No shipping charges. No hassle shopping.
By the way, if you don’t make purchases online, perhaps someone would help you send gifts. I used to order for my Mom and then she reimbursed me. We spent some time looking online during a fall visit. And she would select what she wanted to order. She used her computer, but didn’t want to order things. I am hopeful there is someone in your life to assist you with this if need be.
In my experience, kids especially welcome any package that arrives. The contents aren’t the most important! Simply a box appearing on the doorstep conveys your thoughts and love. If you have creatives in your family, they might enjoy the box too!
Enjoy the Season!
Help us all out and please add to the list in the comments below!!
