Moving On …

I missed our regular chat last week … things are moving on.

I’ve been jumping through the proverbial hoops to selling and buying a home! Some hoops are bigger than others. Nevertheless, jumping is required. Through is the only way forward!

Biggest Hoop … We got a CONTRACT on our little lake house!

One caveat; they had to sell their home! Their house was ready for market and four days later it went on the market.

Another Hoop: Four days later, they had a non-contingent contract on the house they are selling.

Hoot Hoot!! Yahoo!!

Now for the smaller hoops of selling:

Inspection: Done, and all is well.

Termite: TBD

Appraisal: TBD

Septic Inspection: TBD

And all the variables I don’t completely understand ending at settlement!

Then there is the process of finding our new residence.

We began that in the last few weeks. We haven’t found the perfect home, but we’ve been trying. We have ideas and wishes. It sort of feels like unicorn hunting at a zoo!! Thankfully, we have a multi-generational hunting guide navigating us!

I’ve remarked, “We may have to settle for a horse and put a headband with horns on him!”

However, it goes … I know we’ll find a home we will love or learn to love. It will come with pitter patters of tiny foot steps clopping on its floors frequently. That will make it perfect!!

In the meantime, on to the process of moving! This is the span of time that seems exhausting, with a huge portion of expectation thrown in for the new chapter ahead.

This week comes some research on how we will move. Since we may have an overlap of time between homes, we are considering Moving Pods. We hope the stars might align to make one move, but we don’t want to hurry either. Our daughter and SIL’s basement offers a delightful and heartwarming place to camp.

We’re also consulting movers with storage options.

We are daily moving on with different projects to keep us stepping toward our new journey.

Are you making steps toward something new? Tell us!!

I keep repeating “Progress not Perfection!”

Maybe that resonates with you right now!

If so, I feel you!!!

Be happy with any step of progress. You’ve got this!!!

Step by Step,

True Story! Available on Amazon!

  1. Elaine,

Great news for you two. I would expect the housing market is plentiful up there now and hopefully very reasonable. So happy for you.
