More Moving NEWS!

WE HAVE NEWS!

We found a new home and settle on it THIS very day!

Whew!! Yay!! Bravo!! Hallelujah!! Thank you Lord!!

Honestly, I am tired of looking at potential houses and walking out, knowing it’s not for us! For many various reasons, they just didn’t fit. Some houses overwhelmed me with updates needed. In some, the layout just felt awkward. I’ve learned that word “renovation” has many meanings😬.

The home I felt most sure about before this one … we were one of four contracts on the table after the first day on the market! Buyers descended like bees on honey! I think it had 17 showings in the first 24 hours. Negotiations went into a third round, after which we backed out! No more negotiations … we were done! When these things happen, it is a reality that you could lose the house by $100! We probably did! But where do you draw a line in the sand? There has to be a point where you are done with the gamble of winning. While: Some of us were unwilling to negotiate any more, others were perfectly willing. Although: We lost; however, another fortunate person won.

The same community: We will be living in the same community as that failed contract. The finishes aren’t perfect, but we can easily take care of it ourselves. End-units bring higher prices, which the contract we lost is. The other big difference between the house we lost and the one we bought is the lot. The first house was a “premium” lot, as our real estate agent described it! It backed to woods! There are only a few of these lots available. So, it drives the price up and attracts buyers!

The house we are buying has green space behind it with another row of houses, but there are trees and we can add some bushes and trees to further shield our patio if we choose.

I forgot to say … we are buying a Villa style house in a 55+ community.

Eight minutes from our daughter’s house!👏👏🎉🎉🎉

It is a similar floor plan to the first contract we lost, a little smaller. This was the first time I saw this floor plan. (We’ve looked at over 10 villas in this community.) I preferred some features better! It feels more like me/us. The garage too has differences than any other garage we looked at. It has an alcove to give more space to a one-car garage!

We’re thrilled with the unit’s fantastic natural light, despite not being an end unit! (Which is why you want those end units.) I was thrilled by the lighting, and our agent exclaimed, “The natural light in this space pleasantly surprises me!” Keep in mind she’s been in almost every type of floor plan in this community. I suppose the way the house sits has a lot to do with the light that comes in. Maybe it will occur to me later that I miss side windows, but honestly, our lake house only had one side window, so maybe I’m used to it.

This villa is bigger than our “tiny” lake house. We are both happy about a little more space. It’s almost double the size which is our trade off for water front. Yes, it’s not a fair trade off, but if waterfront is not in the picture more space to exist is a nice option.

There are other differences/changes. Many we’ll explore later. At this point, it could be a lot of speculation.

First the MOVE IN!

Move in is going to be a process … I’ll explain later🥴

Let’s just celebrate a place to live that we are both very happy about!!!
