My kitchen is coming together:
Two and a half months in!
Last post, I revealed the wall print I chose to serve as a window in the room without an exterior window. Read Here! This past week, I found and added another puzzle piece.
My kitchen has a large half-wall open to the hallway. It makes the kitchen open concept, in a way. Until we looked in this neighborhood, I had never seen a kitchen like this one. I have to admit it has thrown me a little how to arrange the space; what to put in the large open space, how to arrange those things.
I know someone designed the space to include a kitchen table. I just don’t think two people need two eating spaces. The dining room is right around the corner.
So after finding the wall print, I moved on to another obvious space that needed something: the corner between the cabinet and the hallway.

I entertained options, but just couldn’t come up with something that suited me. I looked at Pinterest pictures and internet kitchens. Of course, I consulted my very able decor specialist. (My daughter)
We decided to purchase greenery, in particular a tree.
I debated a live one, but there is not enough sunlight in that space, so we set out to find a faux tree.
This time, we let our feet do the walking. Faux greenery is very difficult to purchase without seeing it in 3D. We found it at the second store, HomeSense.
Here it is, in its new home …

I like the way it frames the print and enhances the window dynamic. We tried a taller tree, but it seemed to overwhelming in the space. We quickly chose the smaller; it’s about 6 feet tall. The photo angle shrinks it a bit. I also have tall ceilings😉
To be honest, I am not a faux gal, really. They don’t last forever; they get very dusty and fall apart eventually. The selling factor for me is that it doesn’t die. I can’t kill it. It will be around for a while.
I have live plants in other rooms!
What do you think? Do you have faux plants/trees in your home?
What would you have put in that corner of my kitchen?
Next up, the last space in the kitchen and counter styling!
Slowly but surely,

One of a kind true story! Available on Amazon.
