A Peek Into My Christmas…

December is moving way too swiftly for me.

I always plan on savoring every bit of it, and daily, I feel like I do, but it just doesn’t last long enough … my favorite time of year.

This year in our new home decorating was all “new”. In a different house, nothing has a “usual spot” and everything has to find the right home. So, I’ve been moving and moving stuff around after its initial placement.

I came to a point this last week where I decided, what will be will be, and for this year, I am done trying to figure out my decor like a perfectionist. It is lovely and enough!

I sent two tubs back into the closet. Honestly, I haven’t finished styling my home. Our walls are mostly bare, and I don’t want to rush it. I think that is why I can’t figure out where to put some Christmas decor. It’s fine! This is how it is this year. I’m happy even though a few of my favorite Christmas things aren’t seen. I have plenty to enjoy. Plus, much of my decor holds so much meaning and significance. They bring to mind a lifetime of memories: my senses are filled to the brim.

So, without further ado, here is the bulk of my decor this year!

Let’s start at the front door, a night view …

My Kitchen …

My Dining Area …

I really enjoyed making this new centerpiece. I am not a real red person, so you will see I used a lot of burgundy touches and velvet ribbon. I love it!

The blackish berries are actually burgundy! So is the bow😉

Onto the China cabinet which separates my dining and living room.

The deer sit atop, like a mountain perch…

A Peek Inside …

I purchased our tree to fit our lake home, which was a smaller space. But, I do like it in our current home! I wouldn’t want it any bigger. At the lake, I used a more natural emphasis given the outdoor view through the windows that flanked the tree. Here, I decided to add bows back on the tree and went with the narrow burgundy ribbon which I think dressed it up.

The Mantel … view from the couch …

Close up of the bookshelves…

Sunroom Table, Side Table, Coffee Table …

That’s the Christmas view in our home!

Despite the challenge of a new home, I have enjoyed decking the halls. It truly is part of our Christmas celebration. It gives me the season “feels”.

What gives you the holiday feeling?
