Secrets & Celebrations

I’ve been thinking of this post long before Covid entered our lives.

Today, marks my 100th Blog Post!!!

It sounds pretty much impossible!

If someone had told me two years ago that I needed to write 100 any things, it would have felt daunting. I would have said…. “I’m not sure I can!” I’m truly not sure I would have tried,  if I thought about 100 writings all in one lump sum. I would have felt overwhelmed by the proliferative volume and effort right from the mention.

I’m so thankful it only occurred to me in “ones”. I have written a few series, but honestly, I approached them as individual pieces of work, one at a time. I thought about “this week” or “next week” or “I want to write about this.” A blog is a singular place, so each post felt like a singular assignment.

And … one at a time, I’ve made it to 100!!!

In the scheme of life, 100 weeks adds up to less than two years, so it’s not too big. But, thinking about consistently sitting down and writing every week for 100 weeks, sounds much harder to me.

If I had foreknowledge, I would have NEVER chosen these two years of my life to start a blog. NO WAY! I did not understand, when I felt God prompt me to start this blog, what would happen in the near future. It’s been the VERY HARDEST two years of my entire life!! Hands down! Way beyond what I could have imagined; trials, troubles, massive hardships, moves, deaths, employment changes, additions to our household, every norm dramatically changed, sickness, sorrow, grief, Covid, plus more and more and more! I’m truly not exaggerating.

That God could work through these two years in my life is astounding and amazing to me. I’ve had many years of life when I felt far more able, adequate and proficient: when I was “on top of things”, not drudging through valleys and shadows and the hardest life hands out!

Yet, this was the time, God laid it on my heart, with resolute urgency.

I don’t understand all the “whys” and maybe never will …

But I Want to Celebrate !!!!

I want to celebrate all my Readers, Subscribers, Encouragers …

my Blog Family!!!

YOU. ARE. AWESOME!!

  1. Congratulations on your 100th blog. My life experiences show me that God is in control. He uses us to help others see that they are not alone in their journeys. Good times and not so good times, especially in sorrows He is with us. What a friend we have in Jesus…

    1. Thank you Bonnie! So true…. I’ve always said God uses us in weakness to show His strength. I’ve never seen it play out so strongly in my personal life as these last two years. “Weakness is an understatement!”
