YOU TOO?

Did it happen at your house this week?

Temperatures dropped, cool air wafted in, leaves started turning and falling and the humidity left!!

Seasons changing was a magnificent creation! Especially when the HOT of summer gives way to Fall.

I know some of you are summer lovers, but if you’ve followed my blog, you know, the heat is my nemesis. I melt! The humidity-cement-block hanging around my neck anchors me down… I’m miserable!

Give me a crisp cool morning and my whole life feels invigorated and revived!
I don’t understand it completely, but boy, does it happen! I want to sing, skip, twirl and celebrate!

As we drove over the Blue Ridge mountains, this past week in Virginia and West Virginia, the leaves were turning: the promise of fall displaying around me. Patches here and there … I felt a nudge inside… it’s coming!

We arrived in KY to help our son and family move back home after major renovations. We arrived to 97 degrees!! Sweat instantly covered me! Yuck!! We were all hot. It feels hotter in the inner city.

Next morning, we woke up to LOW 50s!

The heat had broken and Fall was ushered in while we were sleeping!

It was that dramatic!

What a reprieve!

IT HAPPENED… I felt a pep in my step, my skin didn’t crawl and the world seemed lighter!

You might not know… I’ve been singing publicly since I was young. I have professional training, but have never sung as a professional. A few times, I’ve had a paid gig. But, I have sung a lot over the years.

When I say, I break out in song. I likely really started singing over the situation. Out loud! I was raised with musical parents and have musical children. I sing with my grandchildren on the phone/FaceTime often and make up songs about them. It just comes out of me. It’s natural.

Cooler weather makes me want to sing like Julie Andrews on the Sound of Music. Arms outstretched, spinning, twirling on the Austrian mountaintop with “The Hills Are Alive with the Sound of Music” belting out of my mouth! That is my response to Fall and the cooler weather…. Every. Time. Always.

This past week, I felt THE moment!!

The next three days aren’t getting out of the 60s here!
Happy Dance, Happy Dance!!!

Let all the Fall things begin!
