I’ve celebrated our Nation’s birthday many ways over the years.

But never in this manner…

A Boat Parade!

Guess that’s what happens when you move to a lake or water community.

I have seen a raft competition on the River, and I’ve seen a “4th” parade,

but NEVER a parade of boats!

I really wasn’t sure what to expect: it was far more entertaining than I imagined. People went to a lot of work to help us celebrate. No need to leave the comfort of your deck or dock. The decorated boats paraded around the lake slowly; honked their horns as they approached to beckon viewing.

I’ll let you in on some of the fun…

Fireworks, friends/family, kayaking, cookouts, watermelon and ice cream added to the festivities! And, of course, … some “floating” on the lake rounded out our Fourth celebration!
